We hired 3 doulas from Thornhill Doulas for prenatal and postpartum care for our very first baby — Suyin, Marcia and Sarah were all wonderful and very knowledgeable. Their wisdom on newborn care gave us the confidence we needed as new parents. We received helpful tips on breastfeeding, sleep, soothing techniques, bathing, managing baby’s gas and much more. We had Suyin prepare healthy comforting meals for us in our home in the first month and Sarah the following the month. As sleep deprived parents, we can’t imagine surviving those early months without them!

We first had Suyin’s support for overnights when we had our twin girls a few years ago, following a very positive recommendation from a friend. I had so much peace of mind leaving the care of our twins to Suyin as she is very experienced and knowledgeable around a newborn infant’s every needs, and even x2 for twins. She is warm, kind, and supportive so also a positive presence for mamas. We could not have survived that newborn twin phase without the break of Suyin’s overnight support. Thank you, Suyin! Fast forward a few years, and this time, we had a singleton baby but required some overnight support after my husband had surgery. Suyin was able to quickly arrange for Roxanne to provide us with overnight support so that I could attend to my husband without worrying about the baby. Similar to Suyin, it was so easy for me to leave our baby’s care to Roxanne as she is also very knowledgeable and experienced with a newborn infant’s every needs. She is also warm, kind and supportive and a wonderful support to the mama. My husband was able to get the rest he needed for his recovery, and I was also able to get the rest I needed to care for my husband and other kids. Thornhill Doulas is the highest calibre postpartum doula service in Toronto; I may be biased as I used them for an extended period subsequent to giving birth to each of my children, but I believe they are truly the best – Suyin is extremely professional and runs her business like a tight ship – she is one of the most knowledgable people I know and I have come to rely on her expertise for a variety of subjects ranging from my care as a pregnant and postpartum woman to that of my babies running the gamut from baths to nursing to feeding to sleep etc. For my latest baby, Andrea Lorenzo came to support me for over a month – if you have the opportunity to have Andrea in your home, jump at the chance. She made my life infinitely easier, calmer and happier with her presence. She is thoughtful, kind, gentle, and she has a magic touch with babies; she provided a shoulder to cry on (postpartum hormones!), an ear to patiently listen and the most capable hands taking care of my newborn baby daughter in my bedroom while I rested and slept soundly. I managed to find Thornhill Doulas while desperately searching the net for postpartum help before I gave birth. My husband and I moved to Toronto a couples years ago and left all our family behind in Trinidad. So help was desperately needed. From the initial contact with Suyin my mind was set at ease.
